Parker: Restaurant celebrations stick to their ribs September 13, 2005
Saturday was a big Q-do on my schedule with the 20th anniversary party for Bennett's Bar-B- Que in Lone Tree.
The Bennett's bash featured a succulent suckling pig roast, smoked corn- on-the-cob, pulled pork and beef brisket sandwiches and two gut-busting rib- eating contests.
Donovan Busta, an Englewood-based eating-contest pro, downed three pounds of pork on the bone to take the $250 prize in the morning contest.
Flying Dog Brewery's Chris Rippe, a rugged rugby player, nearly busted Busta's effort by chowing down 36 ribs in the afternoon contest....
